STA Academy Partner, GIZ-SCPOPP, has organised their first Academy-related Training of Trainers (ToT) training which was conducted in Surat Thani, Thailand on 17th July 2020. The training was attended by 36 participants from the Thailand Agriculture extension officers and the Department of Agriculture, with 24 female officers joining the training.
The training was part of the GIZ-SCPOPP ToT series, targeting to train around 3000 smallholders from 3 provinces (Krabi, Chumphon and Surat Thani) in Thailand on sustainable practices and RSPO certifications.
The ToT training materials, named Thailand Oil Palm Smallholder Academy (TOPSA), was developed based on the Smallholder Trainingg Academy (STA) training guides. 60% of the Smallholder Training Guides and Group Guides for topics focus on group strengthening and relevant presentation templates were incorporated into TOPSA materials.
The Trainer, Thitinai, joined the Master Training organized by the Smallholder Training Academy (STA) in Medan back in August 2019. Thitinai has conducted a number of trainings before, and combining with his vast experience, he is using the STA training guide as reference to develop new training materials to accommodate the Thai smallholder context.
